The Flying Paws Agility Club (FPAC) got its beginnings in 2005 by Leslie Ems, a dog enthusiast in Bloomington, Indiana. FPAC has since grown and the goal of Flying Paws
is to create a club for people and dogs of all abilities to get together to practice and learn from each other about the
sport of agility.
Agility can be a fun pasttime for you and your dog or it can be a competition where you travel all over the world
competing against other handler/canine teams. It's up to you how dedicated you wish to be to the sport.
Flying Paws' primary goal is to provide a practice venue for agility enthusiasts at a reasonable cost!
Leslie Ems - President
Leslie shares her home with 4 dogs, Kota, Tasha, Shadow and Pepper. All 4 dogs are All-American's with 3 coming from local shelters.
Leslie got hooked on agility in 2004 when she began taking Tasha to classes at Pawsitive Partners. The game and the fun time she spent with her dogs made her fall in love with agility. She has since attended several classes, seminars and continues to do so on a regular basis. She began trialing in the fall of 2005 and has since earned titles on 3 of her 4 dogs. She competes in CPE, TDAA and USDAA.
Leslie attended the first annual, 3 day, Clean Run Agility Instructor's Camp in Hamden, CT in August of 2007 as part of her education in becoming a better instructor. In January of 2008, she attended a seminar with Linda Mecklenburg, one of the nation's top agility competitors.
Ana Greavu - Treasurer
Ana shares her home a number of dogs including a Great Dane named Gaysie Mae and two border collies that she trains in agility, named Jett and Xen.
Ana got her start in agility in her Search and Rescue days. She joined Flying Paws in the spring of 2006 with her border collie, Jett, who happens to be a retired Search and Rescue dog. She brought Xen into her home in September as a puppy to train her for agility as well. She has achieved 3 titles with Jett in CPE and will begin competing in AKC this summer.
Ana participates in classes at Flying Paws as well as other local facilities in Columbus and Indianapolis. She also attends seminars when possible.
Jana Wilson - Secretary
Jana shares her home with several dogs, two of which she brings to agility classes, Winnie and Calvin.
Jana also participates in herding clinics with Winnie who is a border collie.
